Real Classrooms. Real Impact.
Teaching Practice at Muhanga TTC gives student teachers the most important experience of their professional formation — time in real Rwandan classrooms, with real learners, facing real challenges. Our placement programme is structured progressively across all three years of training, building confidence, competence, and classroom identity from the very first year.
Every student teacher is placed in carefully selected partner schools where experienced mentor teachers and TTC supervisors provide structured, supportive guidance. This is not a trial — it is a professional apprenticeship that transforms capable learners into confident, effective teachers.
Professional Practice is a distinct component of assessment that contributes 30% of the overall assessment. Student teachers are assessed gradually from Year 1 to Year 3, with records maintained until programme completion.
The professional marks are combined with marks obtained from national examinations to form the overall assessment result. A student teacher must have professional practice marks to be awarded the certificate of successful programme completion.
Our teaching practice infrastructure ensures every student teacher is professionally supported throughout their placement journey from Year 1 to Year 3.
